I now have some pictures! I no longer have these models, as I sold most of them to pay for my WAB Rus figures, and I no longer enjoyed playing Warhammer. I kept the ones I liked (Warboss on the Wyvern, 'Ninja' Black Orc, Warboss on foot, two Orc unit champions, Orc Shaman and the Giant).
Characters
Warboss on a Wyvern
I won this as a spot prize years ago back in NZ, for wearing a tabard for two days! ( I had a Bretonnian army then). It;s a great model - just a shame the Wyvern is a bit pants....
Warboss on foot
(spot the various parts of other models that make up this one!)
Black Orc 'Ninja' Big Boss
He was armed with Basha's Bloodaxe, so I thought having a model with loads of swords etc would work nicely. This model is a slightly converted Iron Kingdoms one. All I did was chop off the (rather large) pistol is his right hand and scratch-built the scimitar, which ended up bigger than I originally intended, but it looks well hard!
Black Orc Battle Banner
Black Orc Battle Banner
Sometimes ended up as the standard bearer for the Big 'Unz.
Orc Big Boss
Sometimes doubled up as a unit champion for the Orc Boyz.
Orc Shaman
Night Goblin Shaman
Core Units
Orc Big Uns
Orc Ladz
Night Goblins (and Fanatics)
Never a game winner, but always good fun! I had one fanatic last the entire game, and he failed to hit a single unit in the process....normally once deployed, they miss each other, and go hurtling towards each other, with predictably fatal results....
Wolf Riders
Never really mastered using these. I ended up having two units of five as nuisance units, but in thisway they rarely achieved anything, as panicing from shooting casualties was common, ort they just got ran over by heavy cavalry.
Snotlings
These guys got royalling stuffed when the new book came out. instead of being a really useful unit for holding flanks or delaying enemy cavalry, they become 20-point 'why bother' units. Having said that, once they did actually manage to kill a Swordmaster of Hoeth....the guy in the middle block with a metal stick is supposed to have a 'standard', but I never got around to it.
Special Units
Orc Boar Boyz
Potentially lethal, these guys were pants. They had a knack of failing animosity at least twice a game, and assuming they made it into combat, decided to bring rubber spears, and complete forget how to hit things....putting a character in there didn't help in the slightest.
Orc Chariot
This did ok,but quite often got shot out of the game before it could do any damage. I usually deployed between the two blocks of Orc Infantry as a extra bashy thing for combat (if I ever got there!)
Goblin Rock Lobba
Did ok for me - most impressive kill was in a game against Wood Elves (pre the current book). The only model I killed then entire game (the WE just kept hidding in woods) was his general, whom I managed to land a rock on! (Can you say squish?) :D
Goblin Spear Chukka
These had mixed fortunes. They seem to have a knack for killing big stuff (Great Daemons, Giants, other big gribblies) but were useless at shooting units of normal sized enemy. I invariably fielded them together, and basically used them as a 2-shot weapon.
Rare Units
Snotling PumpWagon
Scratch-built form assorted Orc chariot parts, the original Pumpwagon from the 1980s and assorted snotlings as crew.
Jonah the Giant
I much prefer this model to the new GW ones - more powerful and threatening, and not ridiculously huge or comic-looking. I also removed the assorted piercings he had - far too deviant for me.
