I'm the League Commissioner for the Cheltenham Warchiefs Summerbowl '08 Bloodbowl League. The League is being run as per the Living Rule Book, without any of the optional rules, except Special Play Cards. We have decided to increase the starting value of a team from 1 million GP to 1.1 million.
The league started on 21st April 2008, and will run for the duration of the summer (so about a week, as we are in England.....).
My team is the (not so) mighty Blak Deff Skwad! (photos here).
We have a couple of teams streaking ahead (well done Toby and Carl!), but it's still early days - anything can happen! The Shadowwood Stalkers are smashing their way up the table as well - 22 casaulties in 4 games! Any team playing them will need to make sure their life insurance is paid up....
17th June: Welcome to the Gouged Groin, Graham's Goblin team. Not had a good start, losing 3-0 to the Empire All-Pros, but having two trolls might help them get a win or two under their belts.
23rd June: The Shadowwood Stalkers leap into the lead with a win over the Silvanian Slaughtermasters (and causing 8 casaulties on the way!). So with a massive 7 bonus points, they are a force to be reckoned with!
30th June: The Shadowwood Stalkers secure their lead with a hard-fought 2-0 win over the Four-foot Giants. James' new team, the Bloodsuckers, starts well witha 3-2 win over John's butter-fingered The Exiles. The Blak Deff Skwad and the Empire All-Pros bashed out a 1-1 draw, which could have gone either way, but for the dice (and I love Strip Ball :D )!
7th July: The Shadowwood Stalkers maintain their lead with a demolition of the Blak Deff Skwad, racking up 7 casualties to the Skwad's 0 (and all in the second half - must have had some darn good half-time oranges....). The Bloodsuckers suffered from glass jaw syndrome against the Blak Deff Skwad, with at least half their team being knocked out at some point during the game. They should have had a pre-march breakfast as well, as the thralls got chomped on numerous times by hungry vampires....
